Kyanite is a gemstone quality aluminum silicate sometimes referred to as disthene, rhaeticite or cyanite. Its name is derived from the Greek word 'kuanos' or 'kyanos', which means 'deep blue', alluding to its typical blue color.
Kyanite deposits can be found in many locations around the world. Some of the most important sources include Austria, Burma, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kenya, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, Tanzania, the United States (Colorado, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia) and Zimbabwe.
These stones with their amazing color came from a very rare translucent crystal discovered Colorado's Holy Cross quadrangle.
Cut from a specimen that was sold to and "extremely" high wealth individual, we managed to keep enough of the crystal to allow some of it to be available to the public.
We only have a few of these stones available and at these prices we expect them to go fast.
