Australian Opals forms as nobbies or in seams but Brazilian Opal has been formed differently in that the dominant rock is sandstone and siltstones. Brazil produces beautiful Crystal Opal with unusual pastel fire colours. It is a hardy Opal because it has low moisture content compared to other Opals. This stone was mined in the Piaui State of north-eastern Brazil.
