Brilliant Cut Chocolate Topaz Gemstone (10.5 ct) 14 mm round
Product description: The ancient Greeks believed that topaz was a powerful stone that could increase the strength of the wearer and even provide invisibility in desperate times. Both the ancient Egyptians and the Romans associated topaz with the Sun God, and trade extensively for it with tribal nations in southern Africa.Tanzania has emerged as one of the most important gemstone producing countries in the region. Tanzania is best known for the gemstone that bears its name, tanzanite. White alluvial Topaz of low grade is also found here, but natural colored Topaz is extremely rare for the region. These rare natural chocolate colored Topaz were mined in a secret location just north of the Songea gemfields in Tanzania, then cut and polished by our experts in the ancient city of Zanzibar. Each of these beautiful Topaz gems has a lovely (milk chocolate) tone with flashes of orange and red fire when held in the light. These are spectacular gems!
